Born in Santiago, Chile; and growing up in Chicago in the 60’s instilled me with rhythmic roots. I love to play congas, djembe, and bongos. Drums have been in use as a ceremonial and festive communication tool for centuries and are considered to the “instrument of the people”. I find my drumming inspiration by riding my motorcycle and spending time with my wife of 38+ years and our son Fernando, who lives in Louisville. Naming the circle after my own guiding spirit, which I call “Blue” began in December of 2008 and has had a growing beat ever since. I regularly participate in other drumming circles when the opportunity presents itself and enjoy sharing my new found experiences with participants of the Blue Spirit Drumming Circle.
